| Larry Thompson has over 35 years of experience in semiconductor research, development and manufacturing. After receiving his PhD in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri he joined The Bell Telephone Laboratories where he was responsible for advanced lithographic resist and processing development. During his 26 year tenure at Bell Labs he held a variety of research, development and management positions including Director of Advanced Lithography and Chemical Engineering. He was responsible for the invention, development and introduction into manufacture several advanced resists and processes. He was involved in technology and patent licensing for 5 years. After Bell Labs he joined Ultratech Stepper as Vice President of Advanced Technology and was later named President of The UltraBeam Division. Ultratech manufactures advanced semiconductor equipment. He was CEO of the New Jersey Nanotechnology Consortium from 2002—2003. Dr. Thompson is credited with 160 publications, 4 books and 29 patents in the semiconductor processing and manufacturing equipment fields. He has received numerous awards for his technical work and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. |
